No no, I’m not gonna talk about my football picks again this week, but how about those picks? Okay let’s move on. What is up in the world of sports? Here are 4 things to be thinking about this weekend:

Linsanity! You just gotta see this kid Jeremy Lin who came off the bench and has let the Knicks to 6 straight wins and counting. The kid went to Harvard and got his chance due to a series of injuries on the Knicks and he did not blow his chance. They are going crazy over this kid and I don’t blame them. He is a pleasure to watch.

Slow Fade to Black: Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield is retiring after 17 years of throwing some of the nastiest knuckleballs ever seen in the bigs. Thanks for the memories Tim, we’ll miss you!

Peyton Place. The soap opera in Indy continues. Unless your a Colts fan or Andrew Luck you may not care, but Peyton Manning’s future with the Colts remains uncertain. Something to keep in mind however is the $28 million they owe him if they don’t cut him before March 8th.

Home Cooking. Hockey fans are keeping an eye on the red hot St. Louis Blues. Their OT win last night put their record at 17-0-3 in their last 20 games at home. Nice playing!

The Kid has left the building: Sad news this week as we say goodbye to Hall of Famer Gary Carter who passed away this week. Nicknamed “the kid”, Carter is the only player to wear an Expos hat in the Hall, but may be best remembered for helping the Mets win the World Series in 1986. I was at the 7th game by the way but whatever.
