One week to go!

Hey kiddos!

Grandpa here, and in case you haven’t noticed, the old man is 5 for 6 picking winners in the playoffs and if that poor kicker hadn’t missed that easy kick, the Ravens would have a shot at winning in OT against the Pats. But that is all water under the bridge, or footballs wide right, or whatever, the important thing is that the Super Bowl is almost upon us! I’m not gonna make my pick until next Friday but I’ll give you a hint which way I am leaning and it rhymes with the word defense, oh wait that is the word -DEFENSE! That’s all I’m gonna tell you.

Plus the Pro Bowl is this weekend which gives me time to catch up on basketball and hockey. And it gives you time to take part in the Action AllStars Stupendous Bowl! Which team are you gonna play for? New York or New England? You can play as many times as you want to. Just remember, the more you play the more points for your team! Scores are updated every night at midnight EST. Take some time with the tutorial too. There are lots of bonuses to find in the game when you use the space bar. I’ll predict the winner next week too!

Okay, I gotta go finish my prune juice. Have a great weekend!

The Big Game is Here!

Hey there athletes!

Yep, you read it right, the big game is here, The First Annual Stupendous Bowl! (Why, is there another big game coming up?) Starting Friday, the All Star Bowl will host the Stupendous Bowl.

Don’t miss your chance to play a brand new QB Challenge for your favorite team. One team is from New York and the other is from New England and every time you play for your favorite city you will add to the cumulative score of your team on the big board. Play as many times as you want, it all counts! Team scores will be updated daily after the score analyzer can break down each individual performance. When you play you will also get some great team gear so you can cruise around town and show your colors! Try to get other athletes to join your team and run up those scores. Remember it all starts on Friday and the winner will be announced on Wednesday February 8th. I don’t have a favorite. I’m just rooting for a  good game and I gotta feeling this one is gonna be a doozy!!

Have fun, play hard!

4 for 4 Kiddos!

Hello again sports fans!

Grandpa here and since you brought it up, lets talk about it! That’s right I called every NFL game last weekend correctly! Go ahead and check. Niners, Patriots, Ravens and the G-men! Not sure I have ever done that before, too bad I’m not a betting man. Actually it’s good that I’m not because I would have lost my shirt last year in some of those bowl games. Anyway, much more NFL excitement coming this weekend. Let’s take a look:

Ravens at Patriots.  Well listen, the Pats are awesome but they are beatable. The Ravens are a very unpredictable bunch of young men. They lost some games that they should have won and won some they should have lost. They are tough and if somehow they can shut down the Brady Bunch, they could win. Heck I’m feeling lucky and I’m taking the Ravens.

Giants at Niners. I am going with the Giants for 2 reasons. 1. Their defense is healthy and they will get to Smith. It may take a quarter or two but they will and when they do, it will be a bad time to be Alex Smith. Plus, Manning is quietly playing incredible football and his receivers are great. Bradshaw is healthy. There a lot of “ifs” in every prediction: if they make no turnovers, if the defense gets penetration, if the secondary can shut down the deep pass, but I’m not worrying about the ifs. These guys are good. If you want to be an elite team you have to beat the elite teams, the Niners are one and if you ask me, they are done. Reason #2 – Karma. Yep in 2003 they last met in the playoffs and the ref blew a call and gave the game to the Niners. The NFL even admitted it the next day, but the game was over. The Giants deserve some karmic payback and I think they will get it on Sunday.

There are only two NFL games this weekend so spend the rest of the time enjoying the Australian Tennis Open. It’s summer down there so why not take a cheap vacation and watch some great tennis down under and pretend you are there mate!

That’s it for me, have a good one!

Stay Warm With the Latest Gear!

Brrrrrrrr!

It’s cold outside! Especially up at the Peak. Man, those Peak winters are brutal. Even Vert Village is a bit chilly this time of year, but at least you can walk over to Beachside to grab some sun.

But unless you’re soaking up some rays on the sand, odds are you’ll be in need of some warm gear, and we’ve got you covered this week with brand-new Puffy Jackets and Winter Hats:

You can pick ‘em up now in the Catalog!

Hope you like the gear, and stay warm!

Kwally: Go For the Gold!

Kwally is still working to become a great mascot!

You’ve all been awesome in helping him by playing all the new games in Baller’s Hall!

It can be tough working towards a goal sometimes. It takes hard work and dedication, it’s always important to keep your eyes on the prize and never give up!

Do you have a story about working towards something and finally reaching your goal?  Or maybe you’re working towards something now, like trying to make a basketball team at school or to score a soccer goal in a game?

Share your story below!  A few random comments will win some tokens!

Sorry to Burst Your Bubble…

Wait, no I’m not! Bursting bubbles is fun if you’re at the Carnival!

Here are some tips to have you kicking some bubble butt with Kwally:

Tip 1: Get in position!

Watch where the ball’s gonna go and move your paddle there quickly!

Tip 2: Grab those power-ups!

Make sure to pick up the extra lives , wide paddle power-ups, coins , and more power-ups for big points and crazy plays! Nobody likes a skinny paddle!

Now that’s more like it!

Tip 3: Crush those Combos!

Try and aim your ball to burst as many bubbles as possible before hitting your paddle again. You’ll rack up the points in no time!

Ok, I can’t give all the good stuff away. You’ll have to play for yourself and see what else you can do! If you’ve got any awesome Bubble Burst tips, let us know in the comments!

Adios,

Big Weekend

Okay kiddos!

This is football weekend, 8 teams left and 4 will be finito when the weekend is done. Who will survive? The home teams? The hot teams? The well-rested teams? It’s all up for grabs. Let’s take a look:

New Orleans at San Francisco. Saints are marching but the 49er’s are playing perfect football and their nutty coach loves to win. This one is a toss-up. I like the 49ers because their entire season has been a surprise and like I said that nutty coach loves to win.

Denver goes to New England. Wow talk about a team that makes no sense, the Broncos were down and out 10 weeks ago now they’re Steelers killers and red hot and don’t get me started on Tim Tebow, betting against him is risky stuff. But the Pats know pressure. They are good at home and Tebow does lose  …sometimes. I like the Pats.

Houston at Baltimore. Yeah the Texans are scrappy and the Ravens have loss some games that they should have won but you’ve got a inexperienced QB against a tough Ravens defense at home. Take the birds, I like the Ravens at home.

Giants at Green Bay. Well well well, doesn’t this look familiar. How soon we forget that the G-men went up to Lambeau and beat the Packers out of the Wild Card against all odds a few years ago and then went on to win the Super Bowl. Sure Rodgers and the Pack have been incredible all season long but don’t count out Eli, his receivers and a defense that is finally healthy. Call me an crazy old coot, but I’m taking the Giants, sorry Aaron, you’re still awesome.

No matter what happens it’s post-season football and I love it!

Now hike the ball!
